Disappointed and Disillusioned: Are we really this stupid and heartless?

Assalamualaikum. Maybe I shouldn't have expected any better from them. But the following set of news items officially confirm that no politician is to be trusted for the 'Welfare' of this country (forget the 'Islamic' part). If the only reason left on the planet to support PTI in elections next year is that it's 'the next cool thing' to support Imran Khan, then we certainly don't need this 'cool factor'. Because it's not going to do anything except land the country and its people in more 'hot water' than ever before.

Take a look at these.

Musharraf in favour of recognising Israel
Monday, January 9th, 2012

The former President of Pakistan Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf has recently given a statement in which he expressed his view that the Jewish country Israel should be recognized by Pakistan.

The former President of Pakistan was speaking in an interview with an Israeli newspaper, Haaretz while sharing his views on the relationship between Pakistan and Israel. The retired General was of the opinion that good relations between the two nations would serve to strengthen both countries strategically and otherwise as well. The former President of Pakistan stressed that both the nations can find many common grounds on which diplomatic relations can be initiated and built up.

Musharraf pointed out that the basis of the creation of both the countries was ideological.

Musharraf pointed out that it was him who took it upon himself and felt it was necessary that the two countries develop ties and in this regard, got the former Pakistani minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri to have a meeting with the foreign minister of Israel, Silvan Shalom.

------------------------------------------------
It's a point to be noted that Israel is responsible for these: Take a look!

A protester screams as an Israeli soldier aims his gun at her during a demonstration against the construction of Israel's separation barrier in the West Bank village of Bilin, near Ramallah, on Sept. 2, 2005. The Israeli Army clashed with Palestinian and foreign protesters demonstrating against the confiscation of some of Bilin's land to build the controversial wall that separates Israel from the West Bank.

-------------------------------------------------------
These pictures can make the hardest of hearts weep. Weep with misery, despair, helplessness and then, we have a leader who is openly declaring his recognition of the state which is openly responsible for the murders cited above..?

Can any human being support this action? Will recognizing Israel stop the atrocities, the murders?

And speaking of murder, do not forget one of the most merciless massacres which happened in Musharraf's time. Lal Masjid. There isn't even a pictoral record of the massacre that happened, and how the victims were burned beyond recognition and secretly buried, and their relatives could do nothing but cry and weep. Why wouldn't a massacre-supporting man support a massacre supporting country?

Now take a look at the second piece of news:
------------------------------------------------
Shah Mahmood Qureshi says PTI yet to decide on possible coalition with Pervez Musharraf
The vice-chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi has caused uproar within the party supporters after stating that the decision regarding any future conciliation with the former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf will be taken after taking circumstances into account.

------------------------------------------------
Third piece of news:

Parvez Musharraf rates Imran Khan as the best politician of the current lot

Former Pakistan President Parvez Musharraf has admitted that Imran Khan is the best politician in the country amongst the current lot. He shared these views while giving an exclusive interview to NDTV on Thursday, November 17, 2011.

Musharraf had no doubts over the honesty of Imran and said, “He means what he says. Maybe, although at times, one sees some variations in statements but, however, I think he means well. He is a patriotic man. So, since he has not been tested, he is, out of the lot, the best of the lot to be given a chance.”

-------------------------------------------------
Another beauty:

Election alliance expected between Imran Khan and Pervez Musharraf
Political parties are adjusting their positions in line with the prevailing scenario, and it seems like some significant political developments could be witnessed before the upcoming general elections.

Reports suggest that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, and All Pakistan Muslim League chief, Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf,  are expected to join hands in order to win maximum number of seats in National Assembly and emerge as one of the major political force in the country.

Imran is on the visit of United States to attend his Party’s procession. According to sources, Musharraf and the PTI chief are busy in forging a political alliance through their mutual friends in U.S.

------------------------------------------------
Whose game are we, the gullible public playing? And whose stealthy hands are pulling the strings and we're content with being the puppets? Wherever the string is pulled, our opinions, thoughts and wants follow suit. It's disgusting to even think about, let alone support.

PTI supporters.. now is your real test.

And PTI itself, there really doesn't seem to be much "Islamic" to your "Islamic Welfare State". I believe it's just there to appease the religious masses, and maybe to garner some support from them. But in reality, neither your manifesto, nor your actions (and your potential actions) support this phrase in any form.

People, do think about it.

I respectfully differ somehow with the points made in this article.

first, what it says is that, musharraf is in support of israel and he rates Imran khan as the best politician in pak, and PTI is yet to decide an alliance with him and may may be some sources say that he is expected to ally with PTI in coming elections, so PTI is in favour of all the bad things Israel do to Palestine and hence PTI is against Islam.

I have the following points.

I think we should have a husne zan for other muslim and if any party or any guy looks sincere to solve country's problems and who has a good clean record (Be it Imran khan or any other) and he has an aim of Islamic welfare state (as he is a muslim too and we never know anyone's intention, so may be we can believe that he actually believes what he says), we should support him as we need some good honest leader to change the current miserable situation of the country. Even many before Independence called Quaid e Azam kaafir too, but see how he actually gave us a place to make an Islamic welfare state.

Many people in our own country die of hunger and poverty due to the corruption in the country. So, we have killers with in our country who do corruption and as a result many poor people lose their life. The big problem of the country is corruption and we need some honest leader. So, should we continue to elect the same parties and let this system go along and be an indirect part of this killing. Atleast if we see some honest person as a leader (like for Imran Khan, it has been proven by his charity work, not by few news predictions of some big sinner allying with him ), we can support him. And even if he doesnt deliver, we make him accountable and look for some better. If our country and people will survive, only then we will be able to support Palestine as well.

And also as Imran khan said somewhere that anyone who is coming or allying with his party is coming on his agenda. So, PTI has never mentioned in their agenda to accept Israel or they favour what Israel is doing to Palestine. According to Sunnah also, any non muslim after accepting Islam was welcome even if someone had a bad record. In this case, its muslims.

Lastly, I am not supporting PTI here. I just wanted to make a general point (which is totally my opinion and anyone can disagree) that we shouldn't make quick opinions based on some speculations unless an event has actually occured. And also may be we need to look at our problems and problems in our surrounding neighbourhood and then look to solve problems at a bigger level. Only then we can be more effective.

@Majworld
I respect your opinion. You have some valid points there. Let me clarify some of the things.

I had complete husn-e-zann on PTI/Imran Khan since the beginning because of his established and documented work that he has done for the country folk. I have faith that he is not corrupt himself, and that his long-standing party members have a clean record too. My reservations started when he started accepting members who didn't have a clean record from the past. I still had husn-e-zann (and probably still do - I have hope).

But my expectations were rather crushed when I observed some significant things, which can be classified under 'actions' that were performed.

1. His manifesto has been written and approved by him - which clearly proves that the state he envisions can probably be a welfare state (that too, I have doubts, because once state laws deviate from Allah's Commands and starts following man-made laws, it usually doesn't result in 'welfare'...) - but it's not an Islamic welfare state. So this is in direct contradiction to his statements.

2. His acceptance of somebody who was a willing partner of Musharraf has already happened. The acceptance of somebody who went and extended a hand of friendship to the Israeli FM has already happened. It's an event that has occured. How can anybody justify this? There was no public statement by Kasuri, recording his dismay/regret over his action. How can we, the Muslim population expect blindly that the same act won't be repeated in the futur?

3. I saw the video you quoted, and I have hope that this will not happen Insha Allah. But I'm still not sure whether trusting IK is the same as trusting PTI. Because it seems as if the only person with values is IK.

4. I never said we should ignore our problems and focus on the Palestine issue. No. But we can at least have concern for our brothers and sisters in trouble - and the least we can do is to pray for them, and not support the leaders who extend a hand of friendship to the perpetrators of such heinous crimes. Itna to farz banta hay hum sub ka.

Anyway, if you compare IK to other corrupt leaders, then there is no comparison. True.

Thank you for your input.

@Tauqeer
Ideologically speaking, I'm with JI's stance. But since I don't agree with their practice of joining hands with corrupt leaders (again, same problem as IK), I probably won't vote at all if they reconcile with Fazlur Rehman and remake MMA.

PML-N, really? I do wonder why.

@Tazeen
Extremely.
:(

Thanks all for dropping by.
